You should insure your equipment for the retail price (without any discounts) from a credible UK retailer.
Yes, you can lend your equipment to friends and family. Cover is limited to 30 days.
Yes, your equipment is covered if stolen from the car, provided the car is locked and your possessions kept out of sight to the public.
There is standard excess which is 5% of the value of your insured item subject to a minimum of £50 and a maximum of £500. There is also the option to add a voluntary excess, in addition to your standard excess, which will reduce your premium. Please refer to the policy wording for full details.
